Riding a single speed or fixed gear bike is something very special. It's really like nothing else on two wheels. Ditching the gears and sometimes the freewheel (in most cases you can always flip the wheel back) creates an almost mystical connection with the street or road you're riding on. Some riders even argue that by stripping a bike down to its basic design—ditching the freewheel, gears, and sometimes even the brake - you gain ultimate control of your bike - and in the process becomes a safer rider. A fixie or single speed feels uniquely alive under you as you start mashing up that steep hill - or use your own legs to slow down.
There is of course also the style aspect of fixie culture - who doesn't want to look good on your bike? They’re simple, aesthetically pleasing and that minimalist edginess carries over in your own style - with or without tattoos.
Here at Hexlox we ride Single-Speeds and Fixies - almost every day - so we understand the unique challenges and questions you might have securing your bike parts against theft.
